How to Protect Yourself from Fairies

Although fairies can be some of the kindest creatures, there are also some very malicious, violent Fae out there. Which is exactly why you must know how to protect yourself. Here's our first tip: Do not trust a fairy, unless you know them well. Fairies can mislead you, trick you, mess with your head, and in some cases, (If the fairy was very cruel, like those of the Unseelie Court) torture or kill you. But do not fear fairies because of this! Just know to stay away from certain Fae. Next, it is said that when you wear the color red, you are invisible to evil fairies, and therefore they cannot hurt you. If you do not have any red clothing, you can tie a piece of red thread into your hair. You can also wear your clothing inside out or backwards, which repels bad fairies, because it confuses them. If you are having very, very terrible happenings with the fairies, you may want to plant Rue, St. John's Wort, or Yarrow in you garden to drive them away. Next, try to keep an iron nail in your pocket at all times. In fact, anything iron will do. A fish hook, a pin, anything iron. It is also said you can use steel if needed. Fairies absolutely hate cold iron (And steel!). Also, fairies strongly dislike running water and bells. Especially church bells, because fairies are against Christianity. And if you are being chased by the fairies, try jumping over any source of running water such as a stream or brooke. You can also where a cross. Well, these are all the ways to protect yourself that we can think of off the top of our heads. If you happen to know any more, we would be pleased if you posted them in a comment.

  1. Wow! This is very interesting. I had no idea there were dangerous fairies. I thought they were all kind and gentle. I will now be aware of the dangerous ones. Hopefully I will not come across any.

Ps...do you happen to know if fairies like snow? Please write back.

    1. Hello, and welcome to our blog! Yes, there are indeed some slightly evil fairies out there, especially fairies of the unseelie court, who rule during the Winter and Fall.To answer your question, yes! Some fairies do indeed like snow, such as Winter fairies, snow fairies, ice fairies, etc. You may find many fairies during the Winter and in the snow!

    2. Oh, hello! Seeing the fairies is a very complicated objective to master. It involves much concentration, and you must be one with nature. Put simply, you must go to an enchanting spot in nature, relax yourself and un-focus your eyes a bit, and make sure not to expect anything. The Fae can appear as just about anything; they can be ugly or beautiful, winged or non-winged, etc. We will make sure to write a step-by-step tutorial on this specific topic eventually. Thank you for leaving a comment on our blog, we appreciate it!

    3. Thank you so much! You are just so kind! We are very glad that you are interested in fairies, and we love that you enjoy our bog! As for coming up with the blog, we just happen to love fairies: We are always researching them, ordering books about them, building fairy houses for them, etc. And finally, one day we felt that we needed to share our knowledge with the world, and connect with other people who also love and believe in these little creatures. So that was when we made our blog! Thank you for leaving a comment, and enjoy browsing our blog!

  4. Is there a ruler of the Courts? I've heard several rumors, but don't know for sure. Seelie is good, and UnSeelie is bad. Can a Fae be a mix of both (like an UnSeelie father and a Seelie mother)? I've read somewhere that a Fae named Fultar is the High King of the Seelie. Forgive me for all of my questions! I'm quite curious when it comes to magical matters.

  5. Another way of protection is to put a ring of salt around what you want to protect. Also garlic can put off the Vampfae (half vampire half faerie) so it is good to carry cloves of garlic around with you. If you travel into the faery realm you'll need a ironor steel weapon, a light pack with food and water, gifts for the fae such as jars of honey or shiny things and some repelent: salt, garlic, steaks for the vampfae, holy water(they dont like Christianity), a cross(you don't have to believe) and possibly a little bell. These things will protect you under rueful circumstances but it is still likely you wont survive

  9. Evil Fae are horrible. I have one right now. She put something inside me and it feels like its draining my energy. I have tried everything she won't leave. She pick me cause of my red hair she said with yes of no questions. When i tried to get her to leave with iron, steel, salt and stuff. nothing effected her. Shes very hard to see like translucent. When i tried to fight her some kind of black sand went into my chest. I went to the emergency room the next day. I don't know what to do anymore. Think shes going to kill me.

    1. have you tried leaping across running water or Your best bet, however, was a plant called St. John's Wort. Wearing it was said to provide strong protection from fairy magic and mischief.

  10. juniper berries. either in a pocket, or as a necklace. I always keep my socks inside out, juniper berries sewin into the hems of my hoodies, a stainless steel necklace and pendant with juniper berries inside, and something red (usually shoes or gloves). if you have money get a red tattoo on your wrists and ankles and get steel peircings. put a handfull of salt in your washing with your detergent. salt your food. everything. also when you see them never look them in the eye.
you dont want to see them...
but if you do, you dont want them to know you saw them.
    if they see you run.
the fae are not your friends.

  11. I also read in 'Modern Witchcraft Guide to the Wheel of the Year' that if you wish to enter the Fae world and return unharmed then you should wear a stone with a natural hole through it, found near the water but dry. This apparently is a protection amulet against them.
